Academic trips or well known as field trips serve a vital function in education as they link the classroom experience with the outside learning. They bring reality and practical experiences to the pupils and students. It was a delightful moment for pupils from Huri Hills from Marsabit country visiting DeKUT courtesy of the Archdiocese of Nyeri which not only left them amazed of the University scenery but also serene environment.

The excitement could not be unnoticed as some of these kids have never been even in Marsabit town because their homes are in the interior more than 150 Kms out of the town. It was both a learning time, site seeing encouraging local tourism as well as building hope that they too are capable of joining this great institution.

Through their host the Catholic Archdiocese of Nyeri, the Catholic Parish of Hurri Hills, Marsabit County expressed their gratitude for the exposure visit to the pupils.
